How does GS1 barcode scanning work?

GS1-128 scans can parse supported identifiers such as GTIN, lot, serial number, expiry date and quantity in one barcode.

Does it support RFID-oriented EPC / SGTIN values?

Yes. The included encoder supports EPC SGTIN-96 and SGTIN-198 values for compatible RFID-related workflows.

Can I enforce a required scan order?

Yes. Configure mandatory scan rules for source locations, products, lots or serials, destinations and put-in-pack actions.

Can an operator change quantities or add products?

Use the quantity controls and digipad workflow where permitted. Extra products can be added when the operation configuration allows it.

What happens when I validate a partial transfer?

The module follows the relevant Odoo stock validation flow, including appropriate backorder handling for remaining quantities.

Can I do inventory counts by barcode?

Yes. Start an inventory count from Barcode, scan relevant identifiers, review quantities and apply the adjustment through Odoo.

Can I use a phone or tablet camera?

Yes. Camera scanning is available alongside hardware scanner and manual-entry options, subject to device and browser permissions.

Does the app work with Zebra-style mobile computers?

Devices configured to send scan data as keyboard input can be used, including compatible Zebra-style mobile computers.

Can I print barcode labels and command sheets?

Yes. Print product, lot/serial and storage-location barcode labels from their Print menus, and print the command barcode sheet from the Barcode app or Inventory settings.

Is barcode activity recorded?

The activity audit helps review scans, quantity updates, validation, packing, scrap actions and errors for operational follow-up.

Is an internet connection required while scanning?

Stock moves and validations communicate with your Odoo server. Availability depends on your deployment and network.

Which Odoo edition and version does it target?

Which deployment platforms are supported?

Odoo.sh and on-premise deployments are supported. Odoo Online is not supported because this app contains server-side Python code.
