This is an official extension for the Hotel Management NexGen module. It seamlessly bridges the gap between your front desk operations and your restaurant, bar, or retail shop.

Technical name: hotel_management_pos_nexgen. Requires the base Hotel Management NexGen module and standard Odoo Point of Sale.

Is this a standalone module?

No, you MUST have the base Hotel Management NexGen module installed as well as the standard Odoo Point of Sale app.

What prevents someone from charging to an empty room?

The system performs real-time validation at the Point of Sale. It only presents a filtered list of rooms that currently have a status of "Checked In".

How do waitstaff know they are charging the right guest?

When selecting the room for the charge, the system explicitly displays the name of the primary guest currently occupying that room for visual verification.

Can guests split the bill and pay partially with Room Charge?

Yes! It natively leverages Odoo's multi-payment capabilities. A guest can pay $20 in cash, and send the remaining $30 balance to their Room Charge.

Does it work with retail POS shops in the hotel?

Absolutely. You can use this for gift shops, spas, or convenience stores in your hotel. Just configure the Room Charge payment method on that specific POS.

Can I limit which POS locations allow "Room Charge"?

Yes, you can easily control this by simply adding or removing the "Room Charge" payment method in the settings of each specific Point of Sale.

Are taxes handled correctly between POS and the Hotel Folio?

Yes, taxes are handled securely at the POS layer. The final amount is posted to the folio without risking double-taxation on the guest's checkout invoice.

Can a guest charge to a room if they haven't checked in yet?

No, the system strictly validates that the guest's reservation is in the "Checked In" status. Draft or confirmed reservations won't appear in the POS lookup.

Can I see the individual restaurant receipts on the final hotel folio?

Yes, the POS orders are linked to the guest folio as line items, making checkout transparent and allowing the front desk to answer any billing questions.

Does it support multiple restaurants or bars in the same hotel?

Yes, you can configure as many POS endpoints as you need across your property, and all of them can securely route charges to the same central hotel folios.

Can a guest add a tip to their room charge?

Yes, it fully supports the native Odoo POS tipping features. The total amount, including the added gratuity, will be smoothly posted to the room folio.

Is this compatible with Odoo Community and Enterprise?

Yes! The module is fully tested and supported on both Odoo 19 Community and Enterprise, and works seamlessly across Odoo.sh and On-Premise deployments.
